Greg Nicholson

Lead Pastor / Elder

Greg has been Lead Pastor at HCC since December of 1988. He’s originally a farm boy from PEI but left the farm behind to do what he loves best…winning people to Christ. He graduated from Maritime Christian College in 1983. He and his wife Pat have three adult daughters, three sons-in-law and a grandson and a granddaughter. He enjoys looking after his family, hockey, golf, (and pretty well every other sport), reading John Grisham novels, and doing home renovations. His faithfulness is evident in cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs for the past 55 years.

James Stevenson

Associate Pastor / Elder

James has been an Associate Pastor at HCC since March 2010. He's passionate about seeing a church that is both reaching the lost and growing deeper in faith. James grew up on P.E.I. and received a BA of Bible from Maritime Christian College in 2009. In 2016 James received a Master of Arts (Religion) in Pastoral Leadership degree at MCC. He and his wife Shannon, have a son and a daughter. James hopes to see the Toronto Maple Leafs hoist the Stanley Cup in his lifetime.

Karen Cook

Executive Assistant

Karen has lived in Nova Scotia all her life and began coming to HCC in 2005. She and her husband Tim were baptised here in 2006, and between them, have served in almost every ministry at HCC. The couple were sent out in 2013 to plant a church and have been involved in ministry since then. Karen came back to us in July of 2021 in the role of Executive Assistant. Tim and Karen have two teenage daughters and live in Hammonds Plains.

Claire Camba

Director of Next Gen Ministries

Claire began attending HCC in 2018 and has volunteered with Glow Kids and our Ignite Youth ministry. In August 2021 Claire became our Director of Next Gen Ministries which include Glow Kids and Ignite Youth.

Carlos Medrano

Worship & Arts Director

Carlos moved from El Salvador to Canada in 2008. He accepted Christ in 2013 while attending HCC. Carlos has had several roles in our church, ranging from leading a life group to becoming a worship leader. Carlos is passionate about music but especially about worshipping God and he wants to encourage everyone to worship our Lord with their whole heart. Carlos and his wife, Grace, have two children, Isabel and Samuel.

Tim Cook

Director of Discipleship

Tim is a disciple maker, husband, father and business owner. He was baptized at HCC in 2006 with his wife Karen. In 2014, Tim was ordained at HCC and sent out to plant churches. After 10 years of church planting Tim is now back at HCC leading in the area that he is most passionate about. Tim holds a Bachelors degree from Dalhousie as well as a Bachelor of Biblical studies and Ministry from Maritime Christian College (MCC). Tim is also working in ministry for oneforisrael.org as an advisor to the president. In his spare time he loves playing basketball, singing and playing guitar and camping with his family. Tim and Karen have two daughters, Maddy and Suzy.

Roland Evborokhai

Elder

Roland and Faith Evborokhai and their three children Tabitha, Tryphena, and Tobias moved to Canada and settled in Halifax Nova Scotia in 2008. Roland has served in different capacities in local churches in various countries before HCC. In April 2021, Roland became one of the elders in HCC and continues his commitment to service through involvement in various ministries in the church. He thrives during the spring, summer, and fall months when he can enjoy his love of gardening, hiking, and mackerel fishing.

Armando Cavero

Elder

Armando, Karen and their two children Daniela and Mateo moved to Halifax from Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2010, where they had served in youth and marriages ministries for several years. They worked in a discipleship training program leading young christians in a journey of spiritual growth. Armando  became an elder at HCC in March 2023. In June 2024, he has graduated with honours at NSCC, Culinary Management program. Now he is on his way to becoming an International Chef.
Armando and family are passionate followers of Soccer. CTV News cameras were at their home when Argentina won the Soccer World Cup on December 2022 in Qatar.
